Table Mountain and Cape Point in one day

A 10-hour shared tour that starts with the cable car up Table Mountain and then runs the peninsula loop to Boulders, the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point. Pick it if you only have one free day in Cape Town and want both icons ticked off.

Table Mountain, Penguins & Cape Point

About this experience

Kenzi Travel and Tours, which also runs the full-day and half-day Cape Point tours, packs the mountain into the same day. After a photo stop in the Bo-Kaap you ride the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway, then head south via Maiden's Cove and Chapman's Peak to Boulders, an optional lunch in Simon's Town, and the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point, where you hike or take the funicular. The day ends on the False Bay side with the shark spotters at Muizenberg.

The $46 is the tour only. The Includes list prints three tickets with rand prices (park R515, Boulders R245, cableway R475), and then "Know before you go" says all three are not included. Believe the second part. From 1 November 2026 the gates cost R592 and R282 per international adult (SANParks 2026/27 fee card). The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway charges R475 return online or R530 at the ticket office (adult, valid 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027).

Add it up and an international adult pays about R1,349 on top, roughly $83, for a total near $130 before lunch and tips. Still decent value for two headline sights with transport. The catch is wind: the cableway runs weather permitting, and the mountain often closes on a blowy day. Ask Kenzi before you book what happens to that part of the day if the cars are not running.

Tips before you book

  • Check the cableway status on the morning of your tour. It runs weather permitting.
  • Online cableway tickets are R55 cheaper than at the office. Ask Kenzi whether you should buy your own.
  • Bring one card for three payments: cableway, park gate and Boulders.
  • Summer is the better bet. The cable car's first car up is 08:30 and the last down 19:00, and long days help a 10-hour route.
  • Wear layers. It is cold on top of the mountain and windy at Cape Point.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Table Mountain cable car included?

No. The listing names the cableway under Includes, then says it's not included. An adult return costs R475 online or R530 at the ticket office (valid to 30 June 2027).

How much does the whole day cost?

About $130 per international adult: the $46 tour plus roughly $83 for the cableway, the park gate (R592) and Boulders (R282). Lunch and tips are extra.

What if Table Mountain is closed by wind?

The cableway runs weather permitting and closes in strong wind. Ask the operator before booking how they handle a closed mountain, and check the cableway's live status on the day.

Is this the same company as the full-day Cape Point tour?

Yes. Kenzi Travel and Tours runs this tour, the full-day tour and the half-day tour.
