Kenzi Travel and Tours · Chapman's Peak to Boulders

Cape Point & Boulders in half a day

A shared minivan run to Chapman's Peak, the Cape of Good Hope, the Cape Point lighthouse and the Boulders penguins, back in the city by mid-afternoon. Pick it if you want the two capes and the penguins without the long day: guests who chose it over the full day were glad they did.

Cape Point & Boulders Beach Half Day

About this experience

This is the short version of Kenzi's full-day tour, same operator and much the same vans. After a pickup of about 30 minutes from one of 15 areas, you stop at Maiden's Cove and on Chapman's Peak (10 minutes each), then spend 25 minutes at Boulders, 20 at the Cape of Good Hope and 45 minutes at Cape Point. Muizenberg is an optional 10-minute stop on the way home.

What goes missing: Hout Bay and its seals, and the lunch stop in Simon's Town. Pack a snack. The pace is quick at each stop, and one guest who loved the tour still called it a bit fast at the destinations. The header says 5 hours while the description says 6 hours. Plan on six, and don't book anything tight for the afternoon.

The fees are clearer here than on the full day: the itinerary marks Boulders and the Cape of Good Hope as Extra fee. From 1 November 2026 that is R592 for the park and R282 for the penguins per international adult (SANParks 2026/27 fee card), about $54. With the $40 tour you're at roughly $94 per adult, almost the same as the full day's total. You are paying for time saved, not for a cheaper trip.

  • 45 minutes at Cape Point, enough for the lighthouse path or the funicular
  • Short stops at Maiden's Cove and Chapman's Peak
  • 25 minutes with the penguins at Boulders
  • Back in Cape Town with the rest of the day free
  • Pickup from 15 areas, the widest list of the shared tours

Tips before you book

  • Have R874 ready on a card per international adult from 1 November 2026. Both gates are card-only.
  • At Cape Point, 45 minutes is enough to ride the funicular up and walk back down. Don't queue twice.
  • Eat before pickup. There's no lunch stop on this route.
  • The listing flags it as likely to sell out. Book a few days ahead in summer.

Frequently asked questions

Is the half-day tour 5 or 6 hours?

The listing header says 5 hours and the description says 6. The timed stops and drives add up closer to six, so plan for that.

Are entrance fees included?

No. The itinerary marks Boulders and the Cape of Good Hope as an extra fee. From 1 November 2026 that's R592 plus R282 per international adult, about $54.

What's the difference from the full-day tour?

Same operator. The half day drops Hout Bay, Simon's Town lunch and some time at each stop: 25 minutes at Boulders instead of about an hour. The gate fees are the same on both.

Do I get time to go up to the lighthouse?

Yes, 45 minutes at Cape Point. The walk up is about 15 minutes, or take the funicular, which reopened on 1 October 2026.
